Data processing
Photos are processed on-device for text recognition by default and are not uploaded. Recognized text may be sent to the story service selected by the user. When cloud voice is used, voice samples, narration text, story content, a random device identifier, and usage data may be sent to StoryLens cloud services and their voice-processing providers. Content is sent to ElevenLabs only when that option is selected.
Waitlist requests
When you voluntarily join the waitlist, we store your email address, consent time, and submission time to send launch news, early-access credits, and updates directly related to your request. We do not sell waitlist emails or use them for targeted advertising. You may contact us to remove your waitlist record or stop receiving updates.
Storage, sync, and security
Stories are stored on your device by default. When Pro users enable sync, titles and story text are stored in their private Apple ID CloudKit database. API keys are stored in Apple Keychain. The cloud service stores anonymous accounts, voices, usage allowances, and waitlist records. Diagnostic API logs are retained for up to 30 days, and usage counters for up to 13 months.
Service providers
We use Apple CloudKit, Vercel, Neon, the StoryLens voice worker, and—depending on user choice—DeepSeek, OpenAI-compatible services, or ElevenLabs. Waitlist messages may be delivered by Resend. These providers process data only to deliver requested features, secure the service, validate subscriptions, manage usage, or send consented updates.
Children's privacy
StoryLens is designed for parents and families to use together. We do not run targeted advertising, sell personal data, or track users across apps. A parent or guardian should supervise voice recording and waitlist registration.
Deletion and choices
You can delete individual stories or use Settings → Privacy & Data in the app to delete the account and associated local, iCloud, voice, usage, and cache data. Deleting data does not cancel an App Store subscription. Waitlist users can email us to remove their address or stop receiving updates.
